Sunburn Relief: How to Soothe and Heal Your Inflamed Skin

Protecting skin from irritation and inflammation is key for maintaining healthy, youthful skin. Every inflammatory response damages skin at the cellular level and causes aging. From UV exposure, sun and wind burn, to topical sensitivities, all inflammatory reactions create a variety of adverse and damaging responses on the skin’s surface and below.

It’s better to start with protecting your skin before you expose yourself to the sun and environment and use ingredients that prevent sun damage.

When you do wind up with a sunburn what’s the first thing you think of? Aloe Vera right? Do you have an Aloe Vera plant in your garden? I do, and it is easy to go outside, trim off a “leaf” of this healing succulent, and begin to slice the skin back in layers to reveal the lovely cooling gel that is hidden inside.

Aloe Vera is such a great ready-to-use, natural topical to apply directly to a sunburn, which cools, soothes and heals your inflamed skin. The difficulty is letting the gel dry, and not getting it on your clothes, as well as cutting enough leaves to sufficiently treat a nasty sunburn if over a large area.

Aloe Vera gels or lotions purchased over the counter have varying amounts of true Aloe Vera in them, and always have additional ingredients that may or may not be helpful or healthy to sun damaged skin. I recommend a much better option with Aloe Vera Juice and more ingredients from your garden that soothe and heal…..
