Infrared Light Therapy for Clearer, Sharper Thinking?

I’ve been using Far Infrared Light three to four times a week for the past five years now, together with three other therapies, to give me a non-sugical facelift. I really love my results, and have been reading with great interest about research on additional uses for far infrared light. Knowing it has a positive effect on wound healing and tissue regeneration of the skin, there are now studies looking at deeper light therapy, particularly into the brain, with positive findings.

Derma Firm Illuminator Home Face Life Gadget

“We are applying a technology that’s been around for a while,” says lead investigator Dr. Margaret Naeser, (of the VA Boston Healthcare System),”but it’s always been used on the body, for wound healing and to treat muscle aches and pains, and joint problems. We’re starting to use it on the brain.” [Read more…]

You know those nasty lines that feather out from your lips like rays from the sun?

Yes, those. I used to have them, hating how my lipstick would seek into the crevices and how terse my face looked, I looked for ways to treat that were effective, that I share with you here:

It’s been 3 1/4 years since I started using my Beauty Gadget, the Derma Firm Illuminator! Three to 4 times a week, consistently, without a week off. It’s definitely a habit now, and yes, I am that concerned (vain) about my appearance as I age.

A New Home Treatment Option for Scars

Surgical scars, acne scars, burn scars, cut scars…..most all of us have some type of scar on our body somewhere. Does it bother you? Does it bother you enough to want to do something to diminish it? That’s the question only you can answer.

What is a scar?

“A scar is the body’s natural way of healing and replacing lost or damaged skin. A scar is usually composed of fibrous tissue. Scars may be formed for many different reasons, including as a result of infections, surgery, injuries, or inflammation of tissue. Scars may appear anywhere on the body, and the composition of a scar may vary – appearing flat, lumpy, sunken, or colored. It may be painful or itchy. The final look of a scar depends of many factors, including the skin type and location on the body, the direction of the wound, the type of injury, age of the person with the scar, and his/her nutritional status.”  (From the University of Chicago Medical Library)

There are many options for scar treatment but if you really want something that doesn’t burn or hurt, I highly recommend the Derma Firm Illuminator skin treatment machine. Painless, just massage in circles while you are watching TV for a few minutes each day. I’ve seen a woman who has had 6 children by C-Section, and a Tummy Tuck whose scar is barely visible – so light and soft, she has to point to it for you to notice!

Far Infrared Light is one of the most incredible treatment functions for skin cell rejuvenation – here’s a little more about this option for treating scar tissue:

“Infrared light is a type of electromagnetic radiation emitted by the sun; far infrared light has a wavelength greater than 4 microns. Despite the fact that we cannot see far infrared radiation, it is perceived by thermoreceptors in the skin as heat. Studies have shown that FIR light therapy can stimulate wound healing mechanisms in the skin. Its additional benefits include the following: 1) Skin is warmed, unclogging pores and expanding capillaries. 2) Blood flow increases, helping eliminate toxins associated with aging and fatigue. 3) Mitochondrial stimulation results in increased enzyme activity and metabolism. 4) Promotes the breakdown of cellulite, fat, trapped water, and wastes. 5) Promotes the regeneration of skin tissue. 6) Increases oxygen and nutrient delivery to cells resulting in increased skin vitality. FIR light therapy is one of the 4 functions provided by Apriori Beauty’s Derma Firm Illuminator.”  (From the Apriori Beauty Science Center)
