7 Tips to Keep Your Skin Moist in Cold, Dry Weather

The winds are beginning to blow, and heaters are being turned on everywhere you go! Do you struggle with dry, flaking, itchy skin in the winter?

When that unpleasant chill hits the air, it’s time to get tips on how to keep your skin hydrated in the wintertime. Dryness can be uncomfortable, and it’s important to defend yourself against the elements in order to maintain smoothness and suppleness all season long. Keeping skin beautiful and hydrated in colder weather calls for both internal and external care.

Soft, hydrated skin!

Dry skin care tips for Morning

  • Wash your face with lukewarm water—not too hot and not too cold— to wake yourself up without drying the skin or constricting your pores.
  • Cleanse your skin with a sulfate-free cleanser. Sulfates are extremely drying and irritating to the skin. In addition, lathering bar soaps and strong foaming face washes strip the skin of its natural protective water and oils.  Celloxylin Step 1. Crème Cleanse!
Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. As you probably already know, moisturizing is key for dry skin types. Apply your moisturizer right after cleansing to lock in the water before it evaporates. Look for a moisturizer with a broad spectrum SPF to protect against the sun’s damaging rays. Celloxylin Step 5. Day Defense Plus, Broad Spectrum SPF 25

Dry skin care tips for Day

  • Your skin will dry out as it’s exposed to the elements throughout the day. That’s why it’s important to re-apply moisturizer whenever you notice your skin becoming dry. Carry a moisturizer in your bag so you can dab a little on whenever necessary.  Celloxylin Hydro-Burst Moisture Intense Lotion.
Drink water. It may seem obvious, but sipping on water throughout the day naturally keeps your body— and by extension— your skin cells, hydrated.

Dry skin care tips for Night

  • At night, once again cleanse your skin of makeup and the day’s pollutants with a gentle, sulfate-free cleanser using lukewarm water
  • Immediately after, apply a heavier moisturizer or cream that will sink in throughout the night. Rich creams are dry skin’s best friend. Look for creams containing nourishing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin or oils such as olive, and coconut oil. While these thicker lotions are too heavy for the day, the night gives your skin plenty of time to absorb all of their hydrating properties. Try our Celloxylin Step 5. Night Repair 3Deep!

Winter winds is a major factor for dry skin. Dry skin seems to increase in the windy, cold months of the year. If you are using products on your skin that don’t protect its layer of natural oils, or are not cleansing and exfoliating often enough, your skin will show it. Dry, flaky, itchy skin can be prevented and you can also help it heal with a few steps:

According to New Beauty Magazine Moisture lives within the three layers of our skin:

Prepare and Protect Your Skin from Winter Weather!

The winter winds are beginning to blow, parts of the country are having snow, and your heaters are going strong!  Here are some great tips to keep your skin moist and soft through the winter months.

Let’s start with the signs of dry, wintry skin and what you can do to help heal and moisturize:

Symptoms of Dry Skin

Skin tightness   •   Skin appears dull and less supple   •   Rough skin   •   Scaling, Flaking, or peeling skin   •   Cracking that may bleed if severe   •   Itching   •   Redness

For many, the winter months bring dry, itchy, tight feeling skin that lacks the glowing, youthful appearance seen in warmer months. Why? As the temperature drops, our skin is bombarded with forces that cause dryness and leave it feeling and looking a bit lackluster. Central heating reduces indoor humidity, while outside cold, dry, windy weather strips skin of its moisture. Often the worst damage is caused when the harsh glare of winter sun off of snow and ice increases exposure to harmful UV radiation. While the combined effects of indoor and outdoor conditions may leave your skin in need of a little extra TLC, for others the effects can be as severe as cracking, flaking skin and even eczema. Following a few simple suggestions will make it easy to maintain healthy, glowing skin even when winter throws its worst at us! [Read more…]

How to Fight the 4 Core Influences of Aging

What are the four core influences of aging, how do they affect what we experience physically, and what we see in the mirror as we grow older?

Why does an Internal + External approach to the battle against the visible signs of aging work the best?

Consumers are increasingly seeking “anti-aging” cosmetic products that treat the visible signs of natural and environmental aging, such as wrinkles, lines, sagging, hyperpigmentation and age spots.  The problem is, products that only focus on treating the signs of aging are not proactive or preventative.  This is what sets Apriori Beauty™ apart from the rest – Apriori Beauty sought to take an innovative approach to targeting the causes of aging, not just the symptoms by introducing the Cellular Age Advantage™, a proactive, internal + external approach that utilizes the Nutrient Reservoir™ to address the core causes of cellular aging!
