Hot Tips for Getting Rid of Mouth Wrinkles!

Don’t you just LOVE this! Are you laughing because you have “The Look”, too? Haha!

Like rays of light streaming from the sun, there they are, without warning – WRINKLES AROUND OUR LIPS!!

Mine just decided to show up one day, bleeding hot pink from my seventies colored lipstick! It is all a part of my “Nurse Face” as my kids like to call it. The )( at the top of the bridge of my nose, the lip wrinkles, the saggy jaw, and / \ on the sides of my nose and mouth. The very signs that  I love to smile and laugh, and now gravity has gotten hold of my face and is pulling down hard, right before my eyes!

If you have every stood in front of the mirror and pulled up the sides of your face to see what it used to look like – or what it would look like with a little “Nip and Lift”….(and I KNOW YOU HAVE!) this post is for you!  We are all “sistahs” in this fight to stay looking younger longer.

“Facial movements and expressions, such as squinting or smiling, lead to fine lines and wrinkles. Each time you use a facial muscle, a groove forms beneath the surface of the skin. And as skin ages, it loses its flexibility and is no longer able to spring back in place.  These grooves then become permanent features on your face.” The Mayo Clinic.

You know what that means?  Drinking our eight glasses of water a day is giving us wrinkles! How? By taking those repetitive sips from our water bottles! We carry them everywhere for convenience sake, and take a sip here and there, and every time we do – Zaazing! Another groove is deepened, like the wheels of the pioneers covered wagon carving the Oregon Trail!

Did the Mayo Clinic say Permanent??? Are you panicking right now?

Some ways to treat are topical acid peels, dermabrasion, laser treatments, Botox, fillers and facelifts. There are also a myriad of wrinkles creams on the market.  What if you don’t want to do the above? Have YOU found a wrinkle cream that really takes care of them?  I have.

YES! I have found a winning combo that has allowed my lipstick to bleed no more!  Did you guess it yet? It’s a combination of Apriori Beauty’s Eye + Lip Age Eraser and the Derma Firm Illuminator Beauty gadget. I started using the Eye + Lip Age Eraser last June, and saw a really nice fullness develop around my lips, and even though the wrinkles were diminished, and quite nicely I will admit, I knew they were still there and that bothered me.  Then I purchased the Derma Firm Illuminator, with the galvanic, far infrared light, ultrasound and vibration therapies, and four months later, using five nights a week with a full two minute cycle just around my lips, they are gone. Yes, gone. No more hot pink “rays of sun” for this girl!

Hope you enjoyed my HOT  TIP for today!!

What Does Far Infrared Light Do For Your Skin?

There is a new option for facial skin rejuvenation – Far Infrared light!  The Derma Firm Illuminator provides the four functions of Galvanic, Far Infrared light, Ultrasound, and Vibration, in one  home beauty gadget new to the market. You can read more about the “Ultimate 10 Minute Face Lift” in my previous post. Let’s take a closer look at one of these functions, Far Infrared Light, and give a little more explanation of what it is, and what skin issues it is particularly helpful with. [Read more…]

AGE SPOTS: What They Are and How to Remove Them

AGE SPOTS are flat, gray, brown or black colored spots on the back of your hands, tops of your arms, shoulders, and your face. As we age, they start to show up increasingly.  Here’s how they came about and some options of how to get rid of them!

They just suddenly showed up one day, but not really.  They are the result of years in the sun, and, according to The Mayo Clinic, usually present around the age of forty, although they can present in younger people.

Age spots can look cancerous, but they are not – the worst part is how they look and that they are there to begin with!  You can bleach or lighten them or have them removed, but the best thing is to prevent them in the first place by using sunscreen and avoiding overexposure to the sun.

How do age spots form?

“Ultraviolet (UV) light accelerates the production of melanin. Melanin is the dark pigment in the epidermis that gives your skin its normal color. The extra melanin — produced to protect the deeper layers of your skin — creates the darker color of a tan. Age spots develop when the extra melanin becomes “clumped” or is produced in higher concentrations than normal.

Most often, it takes years of sun exposure for these dark spots to occur — they typically develop very slowly over time. Using commercial tanning lamps and tanning beds can eventually result in the same changes.”   http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/age-spots/DS00912

Treatment Options:

FIRST!  Go to your dermatologist and GET THEM CHECKED!  Your doctor will tell you what the spots are, and if they need additional medical tests or treatments, or if you are clear to use something to lighten or remove them.

If you get the “All Clear”, some options you have are:

~ Bleaching Creams that lighten the spots over time

~ Laser Therapy which kill the cells that make the dark spots without harming the skin

~ Freezing (cryotherapy) which also destroys the dark spots but can leave a scar

~ Dermabrasion which uses rotating brushes to remove the top layers of skin and can leave a scab

~ Chemical Peels which use strong acids to chemically burn off the top layers of skin

THERE IS ANOTHER WAY to Remove Age Spots, that the Mayo Clinic doesn’t know about yet!

Derma Firm Illuminator Treatment System

The Apriori Beauty DERMA FIRM ILLUMINATOR and CELLOXYLIN MD 20Ex ACID PEEL!

I’ve talked all about it in my post “The Ultimate 10 Minute Face Lift”,  and have since had the opportunity to try it out on my own age spots.  I am  excited to report that the age spots I have been targeting are lightening.  Painless, no scarring, no scab, no redness – they’re just falling off with the Derma Firm Illuinator.

The Celloxylin MD 20Ex Acid Peel has Glycolic, Lactic and Salicylic Acids, together with N-Acetyl Glocosamine, a newly discovered skin care ingredient that has been shown to treat hyperpigmentation. I use this twice a week – it is very effective!

So, the good news is that if you are seeing those nasty Age Spots on your hands or arms, you have choices.  You can bleach, burn, laser, peel or scrub them off, OR you can use the Derma Firm Illuminator, and Acid Peel to painlessly help them to fall off!  Nice new healthy skin is showing up underneath, too!
