That dry skin we are experiencing has a variety of causes – heaters, dehydration, allergies, and many more. The obvious ones of breathing in / living in rooms with the dry heater running, using hot water to bathe and shower, and not taking care of your skin effectively can all be treated with just a few changes in the environment and our skin care regimen.
After writing “7 Tips to Prevent and Treat Dry Skin” I find myself sharing two of these tips more often when someone is looking for the quickest, most effective way to take care of their dry skin to see the quickest results.
Tip #1: Exfoliate Regularly – move those old, dead skin cells along so your skin is clean, fresh, and pores are open to absorb moisturizers most effectively. Use a good Beet Sugar Scrub or Glycolic / Lactic / Salicylic Acid Peel at home, two to three times a week.
Tip #2: Apply your Natural Oil Moisturizer BEFORE your step out of the shower, while your skin is still damp. This helps additional moisture to be absorbed together with your lotion. Just blot off your skin, leaving some water on, then apply your moisturizer while still damp.
Quick, easy, and very effective!
