These are the 2012 Ms. America pageant contestants who I was thrilled to meet last week when Apriori Beauty sponsored their Day of Beauty. Which one is me? Rather “where’s Waldo-ette”? Haha!
What struck me the most with each one of these most lovely ladies, was their poise, confidence and graciousness. Yes, they were beautiful to the eye, gorgeous in every way, yet while I was talking to each, I was more struck by their internal qualities which brought out their external beauty so much more.
They truly are Fabulous!
They ranged in age from twenties to fifty one. Watching the way they carried themselves, gliding so effortlessly in their high heels, they were so composed and dignified. When I spoke with them, they were confident, self assured, pleasantly kind, courteous. I could feel their sense of self worth, belief in themselves, charm and how comfortable they were, which put me at ease.
Some of these qualities come naturally, but most are learned, practiced, developed and perfected over time. How they walked, posed, talked, received their gifts, expressed appreciation, and the way they presented themselves made me feel special, appreciated and important. I felt like I was a little girl, meeting fairy princesses, touched by their magic, and wishing I could wear their crown. Just for a day, even.
I hope you enjoyed my little step into fairy princess land for a moment, and know that each of us has within the potential to develop these same qualities of poise, confidence and graciousness. They can be developed over time, when worked on consistently.
Thank you for stopping by!
